Completely digital

Booking, check-in, payment and check-out at the Klosterherberge are all done digitally via your smartphone or tablet. Accordingly, we do not have a reception desk on site.

Three days before your arrival, you will receive all the details about your stay by e-mail. You can already prepare your check-in at this time by completing the registration form and paying for your stay.

On the day of arrival, your room and the communal areas will be available from 3 pm. Please note that you will only be granted access to the monastery hostel once you have completed the registration form and paid for your stay.

All doors (entrance doors and room doors) can only be opened via your smartphone after check-in on the day of arrival. Please make sure that you have your smartphone with you when you leave your room or the monastery hostel.

Without a smartphone

Are you deliberately planning a stay at the Klosterherberge without your smartphone? We offer the option of obtaining a badge as a room key at the Baseltor (CHF 50 deposit). This allows you to switch off your smartphone and enjoy the quiet atmosphere undisturbed.

 

Check-in / Check-out

Rooms are available from 3 p.m. and we kindly ask guests to vacate their rooms by 10:30 a.m.

 

Breakfast

We do not offer breakfast at the Klosterherberge. You have the option of enjoying a delicious regional breakfast at the Baseltor restaurant for an additional charge of CHF 15.00 per person (offer valid if booked in advance for the entire stay. Price on site CHF 25.00 p.p.)

Premises

The entrance area, the living room and the gardens are communal areas and are available for all guests to use. Please let us know if you would like to use rooms for yourself, e.g. for your own work or yoga exercises.

 

Bathroom units

Each room has its own assigned bathroom in the corridor. A bathrobe and a bath bag with terry towels are available for guests. We recommend that you bring your own bath slippers.

 

Service

Your room is cleaned daily by our staff. If you have forgotten or are missing something, you will receive an emergency contact upon arrival.

 

Elevator

Please note that the Klosterherberge does not have an elevator. The rooms are located on the 1st floor.

 

Bicycles

A number of bicycles are available for guests to use free of charge. Information about this is available in the monastery.

 

Dogs and other pets

Animal companions such as dogs, cats etc. are not permitted in the monastery hostel.

Travelling by public transport

The convent is right next to the Bergstrasse bus stop in Solothurn. Take the number 4 bus from Solothurn main station in the direction of Rüttenen. You can plan your journey online at sbb.ch

Arrival by bicycle

Guests arriving by bicycle can park their bicycles in a locked, covered room (access only for hostel guests). There are also sockets available to charge your e-bike.

Arrival by car

Three parking spaces are available at the monastery. These cannot be reserved. Further parking is available at the Kantonsschule Solothurn on Herrenweg or at the Lidl on Untere Steingrungestrasse (subject to a charge).
